Mission and Vision
EGGVPs vision is to support the development of a competitive European Market for generic veterinary medicinal products that allows all stakeholders to play an active role in the achievement of a healthy environment for humans and animals.
EGGVP’s mission is:
. To promote cost effective and safe farming practices to contribute to meet the needs of a growing human population.
In many geographic regions where certain medicines are unavailable and/or unaffordable, generic veterinary medicinal products represent a substantial resort. Quality, safe and effective formulations are provided by the European generic veterinary medicinal products’ industry. They are attainable throughout the countries, all the more so in regions with specific needs and conditions, last but not least preventing potential monopolies in the EU market.

As animals become healthier, their welfare conditions improve. Generic veterinary medicinal products, which correspond to the high quality, safety and efficacy standards, allow animal owners access to lower cost medication and to improve the health, welfare, longevity and quality of life of their pets. Due to the fundamental role of companion animals in modern societies, animal health and welfare positively influence human wellbeing as well.

With the costs of medicines escalating, it is important that there is sufficient products’ competition and supply. Generic veterinary medicines with guaranteed quality, safety and efficacy help creating an appropriate competitive environment, with more and more affordable options for European veterinarians, farmers and pet owners.
